Advance fee frauds that claim to be sending you a charged-up ATM card are a relatively recent innovation. It’s easy to imagine the attraction: no complex wire transfers from supposed foreign bank accounts. Just an envelope in the mail with your millions encoded in plastic.
Alas, the packaging is new but the scam’s the same, and the only money that will be moving will be the money in your wallet that will get transferred to the scammer.
