Ah, it’s the old orphan-with-a-fortune-in-a-secret-trunk scam. “Rosemary Mane” has inherited a trunk full of money from her late father, and being young and inexperienced, needs someone to invest it for her. Who could turn down a request for help from a poor, or rather a rich, orphan? Alas, if you try to help Miss Mane, you’ll find that there’s no trunk and no money; there’s just a scammer trying to get your cash to fill his own pockets.
